Long Description
Pre-painted galvanized (PPGI) and pre-painted galvalume (PPGL) steel coils are manufactured through a continuous coil coating line. The process involves cleaning, chemical pre-treatment, and priming of a galvanized steel (zinc-coated) or galvalume steel (aluminum-zinc alloy coated) substrate, followed by the precise roller application of one or multiple layers of liquid paint, which is then cured in an oven. This integrated manufacturing creates a product with a uniform, high-quality painted finish that exhibits excellent color consistency, adhesion, and resistance to weathering, corrosion, and mechanical damage. The product eliminates the need for onsite painting, providing a cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution for applications requiring specific colors, gloss levels, and long-term durability in various exposure conditions.
Key Product Highlights
PPGI/PPGL coils combine the sacrificial corrosion protection of a metallic coating with the decorative and protective qualities of an organic paint system.
A wide range of paint systems is available, including polyester (PE), silicon-modified polyester (SMP), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and plastisol.
The product offers excellent color consistency, gloss retention, and resistance to chalking and fading.
It can be supplied with various surface textures, including smooth, embossed, or printed patterns.
The factory-applied coating ensures uniform film thickness, reduces VOC emissions, and speeds up construction and manufacturing timelines.
Product Advantages
The continuous coil coating process provides superior paint adhesion and consistency compared to post-fabrication painting.
A diverse color palette and finish selection allow for design flexibility and brand-specific aesthetic requirements.
Pre-painted coils are ready for fabrication, reducing production steps, on-site labor costs, and environmental impact.
The integrated paint system is formulated for specific environmental exposures, from mild interior to severe marine or industrial atmospheres.
Technical data sheets for both the substrate and paint system provide full performance specification and compliance documentation.
Industry Application
This coil is primarily used for manufacturing architectural roofing and wall panels, composite panels, garage doors, appliance cabinets, HVAC housings, interior ceilings, partitions, and various formed metal products.

Packaging & Surface Treatment
Coils are packaged with extreme care to prevent damage to the painted surface. Standard packaging involves winding on a cardboard or plastic core, interleaving with protective plastic or paper between coil layers, wrapping with waterproof and scratch-resistant film, and securing on wooden cradles with edge guards. Special surface protection films are often applied to the top side for critical architectural applications. The finish is the cured paint system, supplied in a range of gloss levels and textures.
